Update - 1030am 6.28.22 - he’s with Dr. Bishop and he is eating again. He did have another small seizure while he’s there but his red blood cells have stabilized and his kidney values are back in the normal range. So we’re going to have to figure out what the seizures are from but the other issues look to be stabilizing so let’s hope we can figure out what is causing the seizures and get that handled!! He sure loves his Dr B though ❤️❤️
6.28.22 7am Peanut had a setback last night. He started having seizures and had multiple through the night. We were in contact with Dr Bishop through the early morning hours and tried meds. This morning he woke up and had two more. He is now back with Dr Bishop at Center Hill Animal Clinic and we could all use some prayers for Peanut please 🙏🏻🐾😢❤️ ... See MoreSee Less

Momma Kiara has made it to Bluff City Specialist- where Dr Fisher is performing surgery on the leg she was shot in to plate and pin it and save the leg. Based on the X-rays he feels confident that he can repair it. There will be a long road to recovery after but she’ll have the leg. If however, he gets in there and he doesn’t feel the same confidence we will have to amputate it. This family …. Well they have been heavy on our hearts for several days. Friday they were brought to my attention after the injured mom was left behind injured and her puppies were taken away by someone. We quickly made arrangements to get her. She literally had tears … maybe the pain of her shot arm or maybe that and the fact she watched her 5 pups being taken away. We were finally able to get three of the pups Saturday afternoon- the smallest was in critical condition the first emergency vet said we should euthanize him that he was likely in kidney failure. Dr Bishop immediately asked us to take him to her and she came in on Saturday night to treat him and a blood transfusion she even took him home and cared for him 24/7 to make sure he was ok. Peanut is stable and this afternoon he was reunited with his two sisters. We continue to pray that the two pups we weren’t able to get back are safe, alive and being cared for. I hate that we can’t reunite them all
But with momma Kiara being on heavy pain meds and antibiotics we can’t but we hope after to show her that at least these 3 of her babies are safe and loved.
Rescue is hard enough with just the shear volume of dogs in need but hell - a shot and abandoned mom and sick pups it’s heartbreaking for us all. Kiara bill
For the first three days was $1480. Surgery will be $3000 - ER visit for jist the eval and being told to euthanize him was $520 we don’t have the other bills yet but as you can see we have taken on a humongous undertaking - any donations are greatly appreciated and remember prayers are free - if you do wish to donate you can do so via our website www.straynetwork.org/donate please indicate Kiara &’kids. Thank you for your love and support we have had a mountain of emergencies lately ❤️🙏🏻🐾 ... See MoreSee Less

My brother in law is willing to foster, but he lives in the city. Is a yard a requirement?
❗️Update on Fred from Dr Bishop! ❗️
Fred is out of surgery and waking up. Good news- no foreign material.
Had a hookworm blockage in the cecum (doggy appendix) Was able to milk it out though so didn’t have to cut into the intestines at all. He’ll stay inpatient fluids and antibiotics for 24-48 hours and then can go back to foster
His lymph nodes in his intestines were massive. —- well he was definitely not feeling great but will recover well !! Thanks to Dr Bishop!!
Any donations toward her care can get called directly to center hill animal clinic - stray network animal rescue account “Fred” 662.895.8387 or can click donate www.StrayNetwork.org/donate Venmo @straynetwork or click tab below ... See MoreSee Less

We need some help please - Our bill for Kiara at Vet in West Point MS before she even had surgery was $1480 for exams, labs, X-rays and medical boarding- we definitely did not expect it to be so high ..... :( and that is not including a $3000 Surgery to save her leg tomorrow with Dr Fisher at Bluff City Specialist in Memphis - plus Fred’s emergency surgery today and peanut critical care over the weekend right after Sarabi surgery and the Parvo pups we are getting NAILED….. our adoptions barley cover the health care they receive with food and prevention etc etc etc if you can find it in your heart to donate ANY AMOUNT …
Please we could really use it. I’m face in hand trying to figure it out right now 😢😢😢😢😢 you can donate on our website

Update 6.27.22
Fred is having surgery today :; we will keep you posted.
Update on our handsome hound -
Fred was taken back to Dr Bishop Saturday he was acting off and vomiting. Fred vomited pieces of a toy but nothing obvious showed on Xray. So we gave meds and fluids in hope it would clear. Last night Dr Bishop said that Fred continues to have signs of inflammation in his gi tract on Xray . We don’t see any obvious signs of foreign body but the inflammation makes us worried. If we don’t see improvement this morning he’s headed into surgery today (Monday) ... See MoreSee Less

Peanut - This afternoon we got three of Kiara’s pups (our momma who was shot in the front leg ) this is Peanut he was in critical condition when we got him at noon today after the almost 2 hour trip to the closest emergency vet he waited hours to be seen ( big thanks to Angela for the ride and waiting for him and taking sisters to foster mom) and once seen it was determined he was severely anemic and going into kidney failure. We were advised the best thing to do was euthanize him. When talking to the vet nearly 5 hours after his arrival there we were told it would be close to $4000 (3300-3900) to try to save him anyways I reached out to Dr Bishop - remember it’s almost 8pm on a Saturday night and shared the labs and quote and without hesitation she said bring him to me I will meet him at the clinic and I will do the transfusion and treat him. - ( thank you Alan for quickly picking Peanut up and getting him to Dr Bishop)
well within in 30 minutes he is eating , drinking and showed he
Was ready for the fight to live- he got his blood transfusion and even stood up! We still have a fight on our hands but we are in the best hands now - a vet that cares
For these babies just as much as we
Do !! She is the best vet I know and her heart is so big. We are so very fortunate to have her in our rescue babies corner !!
