Sweet little Indie who is now about a week old is doing so good. We rescued her earlier this week when she was found alone in a yard in rural Mississippi by a sweet couple. She had wounds all over her that were filled with maggots 🤮💔. The finders searched for her siblings and her mother but none were found. Based on her condition it appears some predator picked her up and carried her off and then left her . A very sad but not uncommon occurrence with so many strays giving birth outside but usually they are never seen so Indie is a lucky one. She’s now healing well and all the yuckies are gone - thankfully. Fosters Brandy & her daughter Mikayla are doing 2 hour round the clock feedings so it’s a lot of work and we really really appreciate them so so much. This sweet girl has a chance because of the finders and Brandy & Mikayla who are heroes ! They are the sweetest, Michelle rescued this mom as part of a group of dogs that were abandoned on a property in rural Mississippi. This morning we were informed informed by one of our supporters that a text message or email was going out from VENMO -
saying Stray Network Animal Rescue Requests $50 for dog surgery !!!!
We did not initiate that or know who did !! I just spoke to Venmo and with a couple recipients of the text — sadly someone did create a fake SNAR account using straynetwork and added a @
“ - “ to the end of it! Venmo did close that account and will investigate further. We would never send requests for money out ! Sad day when people impersonate the rescue. Indie … last night about 24 hours ago I received a message from a nice couple that had found a newborn pup in their yard. They searched for a momma dog and other pups but none found. They asked if we could take the pup. They sent me pics and I was horrified when I saw the babies backend which was covered in maggots 💔 potentially a predator maybe bird or other had the pup and dropped her. It’s just horrible - the vet had us give her meds to kill the maggots inside and outside on her skin with her being so young we were worried but they are dying ( some are still coming out ) and she’s eating like a champ. We all sure hope that her mom and siblings are somewhere safe 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 the not knowing is so so hard. Please send up a few prayers and good vibes for our sweet little Indie and also for Brandy & Mikayla who are fostering the sweet baby! Sweet Nori is at @magnoliavetsurgery for her recheck today with Dr Edwards !! She had to have right Cruciate ligament repair due to an injured leg! This sweet 6 month old girl is precious and perfect. Recovery and limited activity has been hard !! Dr Edwards did an amazing job but - $2,000 was not expected expense and we were only able to raise 25% of the cost towards her procedure! Welcoming sweet momma dog Jolee and her 5 pups. Jolee was rescued by one of our fosters as a scared pregnant dog over a month ago. She was very skittish and had a hard time with trust but over the last month with the patience and love provided by Michelle she started to trust. Delta has been waiting a long time … we are looking for an adopter or a foster to forever fit Delta ! Delta is an amazing dog - she’s the perfect size, loves to cuddle but also is excited to walk, run or hike. She loves other dogs and is playful and affectionate but she’s not a fan of cats - currently she’s in a foster home with cats and it’s causing stress. Rayne! She has been waiting for a while for her forever home. We don’t get it :( she’s perfect ! Adorable, affectionate and playful Rayne. Shes such a beautiful young lab maybe shep mix.
